Simon Buck was born in New York, but he grew up in Wellington, New Zealand. Simon returned to the country of his birth in 1997, after having spent the previous 2 years living and working in London. He has spent most of his working life in the wine importing business, based in New York and San Francisco. Simon worked for one of the earliest importers of New Zealand wine into the US and has had the pleasure of working with a number of its most iconic producers including Te Mata Estate, Dry River and, in recent years, Millton Vineyards. Simon formed Tablelands Wine Company with fellow expat-Kiwi, Magnus Riddiford in 2009. Together they work with growers across New Zealand to produce both single vineyard wines and regional blends.
Magnus Riddiford grew up in the wine growing region of Martinborough from the time of its inception. In 2008 Magnus was employed by start-up Vintage New Zealand in New York as a media marketing manager. In 2009 he began working for RO Imports marketing New Zealand Wines in the metro New York region, along with forming the Tablelands Wine Company in New Zealand. This was followed by a 2 year stint with New York wholesaler Verity Wine Partners. He now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area handling West Coast sales and marketing for Wine Dogs LLC.
